What is does it mean to live a life romantic? Romanticism, as it first unfolded in the late 18th and early 19th Centuries, was a reaction against Classicism, Rationalism and the Enlightenment. Artists, musicians and writers dove into imagination, nature, even their own psyches to produce some of the world's most beloved and memorable works (think William Blake, Beethoven and the Bronte sisters).
But what does it mean to be a Romantic today? My own personal and subjective view (something Romanticism is all for) is that a Romantic today values those things in life that make it worth living: the hug of a loved one or the support of a good friend in a time of need; indulging in a delicious meal or savoring a spectacular sunset; getting lost in play and freeing the imagination. Some may say a Romantic sees life through rose colored glasses, but I prefer to think of it as living a rose colored life. Choosing to see the glass as half full and celebrating life's beauty. This blog will explore the many ways anyone can live a life romantic. Hope you enjoy!

Romanticism celebrates imagination and play; the emotional and the irrational; the visionary and the transcendental.
